About Randalls

Robert Onstead joined his uncle's grocery store, Randalls Super Valu, in 1954. Using what he learned and his marketing know-how, he quickly opened a second store. A decade later, he and his partners reinvented the grocery store landscape by introducing the first discount supermarket. By advertising discounts in the windows, offering check-cashing services and selling hot deli goods right in the store, the business forever changed what it meant to go grocery shopping. Today, the company operates under the Albertsons umbrella of stores and continues to offer great values and an excellent shopping experience.
